Despicable Me: The Box Office Animation Movie

Despicable Me is a 2010 American computer-animated 3-D feature film from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment that was released on July 9, 2010 in the United States with considerable critical and financial success. The film stars Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove.

The story is of a supervillain named Gru who plans to use three orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, only to find that their innocent love is profoundly changing him.

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon, yes, the moon.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

No matter how dubious this second coming of 3-D is starting to smell. Compared with the restrained sophistication of Pixar's approach to the technology, and in sharp contrast to such murky, hacky live-action conversion jobs as "Clash of the Titans" and "The Last Airbender," here is a product — turned out by a French animation house, written by the team behind "College Road Trip" and " Horton Hears a Who!" — determined to give cheeseball 3-D blatancy a good name.

The second, more openly sentimental half. Ask any three people what "Despicable Me" is about, and no matter how many teasers or trailers they may have seen, they'll have a hard time bluffing.

Genres: Comedy, Kids/Family and Animation
Running Time: 1 hr. 28 min.
Release Date: July 9th, 2010 (wide)
Distributors: Universal Pictures
U.S. Box Office: $118,434,555

Daniel Schorr was died at 93

Longtime journalist Daniel Schorr dies at age 93
Veteran broadcast journalist Daniel Schorr died at a Washington hospital Friday morning, according to National Public Radio. Schorr was 93.

Schorr, who began as a foreign newspaper correspondent in 1946, helped launch CNN as its senior Washington correspondent in 1980 after two decades with CBS. NPR, which Schorr joined as senior news analyst in 1985, said he died peacefully after a short illness.

His coverage put him on Richard Nixon's infamous "enemies list."

Remembering Daniel Schorr, his fellow leaker Daniel Ellsberg noted that they each had been confronted with questions about motivation and profit.

In 1976, Schorr leaked the Pike report — the findings of an Intelligence Committee investigation into questionable CIA activities, which the House had voted to keep secret — to the Village Voice. Schorr asked the Voice to make a donation to the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

Even Schorr asking for a donation from the Voice raised questions about whether he had profited financially from his leak. He hadn't. But the transaction may have cost Schorr anyway.

At the time, Schorr accused the Reporters Committee, which had put him in touch with a lawyer to aid publication of the report in book form, of having blown his cover.

Schorr covered the rebuilding of Western Europe for the Christian Science Monitor starting in 1946. He joined Edward R. Murrow's CBS news team as its Washington diplomatic correspondent in 1953.

Schorr resigned from CBS in 1976 after the network suspended him amid a controversy over the leaking of a secret U.S. intelligence report. Schorr refused to tell Congress the source of the document, citing his First Amendment protections.

CNN founder Ted Turner hired Schorr in 1979 as he was preparing to launch the Cable News Network the next summer. Schorr quit CNN in 1985 and soon joined NPR.

Many award had he get, included a Peabody for "a lifetime of uncompromising reporting of the highest integrity," three Emmys and the duPont-Columbia Golden Baton.

Cala Boca Sylvester Stallone-Sylvester Stallone target of Twitter attack for “The Expendables”

While promoting "The Expendables" at 2010 San Diego Comic Con, actor Sylvester Stallone joked about filming in Brazilian locations and the local violence. Some considered the comments in bad taste and responded by tweeting "Cala Boca Sylvester Stallone" (portuguese for "Shut up Sylvester Stallone").

The Expendables is Sylvester Stallone's new movie is about a band of mercenaries led by Barney Ross (Stallone), who are led on what they're told is a covert, CIA-funded mission to overthrow the dictator of a South American country. In reality, it's a trick; they were sent on a suicide mission.

Lindsay Lohan's Reaction to Jail

Lindsay Lohan's Reaction to Jail
The star of “Mean Girl” Lindsay Lohan has been slammed with these charges because she violated the terms of her probation following the DUI arrests back in 2007. Lohan has been found with cocaine in her car and she has attempted Rehab several times, only to continually fall off the wagon. It appears as though Revel was tired of Lohan not following through on her promises.

Because of that Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail by a Lon Angeles Judge on Tuesday. Judge Marsha Revel sentenced her with the 90-days in jail, to be follow by a mandatory 90 days in an in-patient rehab facility. This is a much heavier sentence then the “slap on the wrist” Lohan was reported to be expecting to get.

Lindsay Lohan's Reaction to Jail

Although the judge was strict and Lindsey was tearful, there is debate as to whether she will serve the 90 days or not. This is not Lohan’s first time behind bars. She got a 24-hour sentence at the women’s Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA 3 years ago. She only served 84 minutes of that sentence.

Stan Goldman, a Loyola law professor, said Lohan’s celebrity status clearly helped get her many second chances not given to other offenders in the court system. Goldman said she dodged probation violations for several years as her attorney managed to keep her out of jail despite her probation being extended for failing to complete alcohol education classes in a timely manner.

Michelle Obama’s Evolution

Michelle Obama's style continues to command attention from fashion lovers everywhere. Given her record, we predict 2010 will be another big year for the First Lady. She kicked off January with a brand-new bob, induced panic by layering a long-sleeve tee underneath a Narciso Rodriguez sheath, and made a fashion statement when she wore an Alexander McQueen blouse the same week of his passing.

She also appeared in her seasoned favorites, from Jason Wu to Thakoon to Talbots. Click ahead to check out everything she's worn in 2010. And check out all of her looks from 2008-2009.

Michelle Obama recently unveiled a new haircut. The change was somewhat subtle, but she cut enough off for those of us obsessed with her style to have a mild fit. Cathy Horyn calls the new do "rounder, more managed."

Michelle Obama’s Evolution

She added, "One might be tempted to call the style an updated version of the classic Washington helmet," but noted Michelle Obama has tried many styles over the course of Barack's presidential campaign and presidency.

She began with side bangs, grew them out late last year, and now is on to what we'll call her mom bob because we think it flatters her, and calling it a helmet implies it never moves or blows in the wind or does anything interesting even after the help of heat styling.

But it does all of those things! Michelle is already experimenting with styling her new mom bob and looks to be having fun with it, as any woman with a chic new haircut should.

After the family vacation in Hawaii, where a smooth, practical knot seemed to work, Michelle Obama has emerged with a new hairstyle. It looks shorter, rounder, more managed. One might be tempted to call the style an updated version of the classic Washington helmet.

Mrs. Obama has tried a number of styles, their common theme a polished look that keeps the hair off her face. The style she wore around the Inaugural was somewhat longer and sportier, with bangs to one side. She did a glamorous version of that look for different events in April and May. Late in 2009, the bangs seemed to vanish.
